All About Me
Hello! My name is Rachel and I’m a travel consultant for Stryder Travel. My specializations in the travel industry are adventure and wellness. The reason why I chose these is that it’s how I like to travel myself. Ever since I was a little kid I would go on vacation with my family and go on amazing adventures with my dad and brother one day and the next I would go to a spa or tea party with my mother. This really gave me the best of both worlds! One day I was getting my adrenaline pumping and having an adventure and the next I was relaxing and recharging my body and mind. I love helping others try something new and make a new memory for themselves, but also let them take time for themselves.
I’ve been to many countries including England, Germany, Spain, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Mexico, and even Zambia. I want to explore so many more, though!
My favorite trip so far has been to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I was lucky enough to have a friend living there at the time so I was able to have my own personal tour guide. That trip is one of the main reasons why I decided to become a travel consultant. This trip really opened my eyes to how valuable it is to have someone with insight into my destination to help make my trip perfect. I usually travel by just ‘winging it’ and while that can be nice for a day or two I realized that I was missing out on a lot.
Having someone who knew the area made a world of difference on my trip. I was able to get around using public transportation much easier, know which were the best restaurants, and even got to go on a last-minute sailing excursion!
As for me, my personal hobbies have a wide range! I love to cook, go biking, scuba dive, and go horseback riding, to name a few. I’m always up for learning something new and different. My top five travel destinations to visit are Montenegro, Malta, South Africa, Iceland, and Bali!
My top two travel tips are to go to the typical tourist location for 2-3 days maximum and then go to a lesser-known area for more authenticity. Top travel tip #2, Make sure to take time for yourself! When we go on a trip we are so excited and ready for “a break.” What we always seem to forget is that we will be with our friends, family and/or significant other practically 24/7 for the entire duration of the trip. It’s okay to stay home from seeing a museum to get some peace and quiet, there is nothing wrong with going to a cafe or beach and reading a book on your own. It is important to remember that this is your vacation too and what is most important is that you have a good time.
I would love to help you get the most out of your vacation and get some new memories of your trip that will last a lifetime.
